Keep in mind that an island is generated each time you buy a Nook Miles Ticket, which means you can’t keep resetting the game to try and get a different island with the same ticket. These islands come in a variety of styles ranging from pretty basic to rare and lucrative we've detailed all the types we've encountered so far below. Once you have a ticket, talk to Orville at the airport, select the "I wanna fly!" option, and then select "Use Nook Miles Ticket." You'll then be whisked away to a random island on your Mystery Tour! You can purchase Nook Miles Tickets for 2,000 Nook Miles each at the Nook Stop machine in Resident Services. Once your airport is open (starting the second day you play the game), you'll be able to use a Nook Miles Ticket to go to a deserted island. Maybe the dinosaur like creatures and other beasts are real but perhaps the stories of lizard and batmen are exaggerated and just myths. I believe that farther south of Sothoryos that dark skinned peoples inhabit these lands. But its said to be immense and hard to travel. I also want to add: Sothoryos is a mysterious continent that in the context of the series is really only described by Westeros Maesters and sailors. Or that the Summer Islanders were sailors long ago but sailed in cruder ships that were more like rafts and left Sothoryos. ![]() Then either the Summer Islands broke away through continental drift or other phenomena (cause this is the same fantasy world where magic exists) stranding these people. The scenario I imagine is that dark skinned peoples (like irl) originally populated all the continents - Westeros and Essos. ![]() Probably 40 or 100 or even 400 thousand years prior to the “whiter” and “tanner” peoples that populated Westeros and Essos. Me personally, altho Sothoryos is said to be inhabited by all manner of fantasy / prehistoric creatures and the Brindled men, I feel like Sothoryos is where the Summer Islanders came from. We hear them say they are thousands of years old. But they are distant enough to be distinctly their own people with their own cultures and traditions. They’re not that far away from Westeros when you look at the maps. The history and behind the scenes stuff says the Westeros and Essos peoples populated those continents but where did the Summer Islanders come from? ![]() The Summer Islands sort of are roughly analogous to Sub-Saharan Africa but being a islands based culture they have a lot in common with like South East Asia or the Pacific Islands. Where other fantasy ignores the concept or race and that human beings look different to each other, GRRM openly has different skinned people, dark skinned peoples, & more in his works. While their characters number few compared to characters that originate from Westeros or Essos, I’ve been fascinated by the Summer Islands and their people.
